The high-profile event of recent days-the vote of some members of the delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for the PACE anti – Azerbaijani resolution-still remains in the spotlight not only of Azerbaijani experts, but also of Ukrainian ones.

Thus, according to the first Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of economic development and trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv, not everyone likes the positive dynamics in the relations between Kiev and Baku. According to him, certain forces not only outside but also inside Ukraine want to harm President Petro Poroshenko, who is pursuing a consistent policy towards Azerbaijan. Cubicin, highlighted some of the voting members of the Verkhovna Rada of the PACE on Azerbaijan.

The Ukrainian Minister noted that only five out of 12 members of the Ukrainian delegation voted for resolutions 2184 and 2185. Moreover, he noted, none of the deputies who voted do not belong to the Petro Poroshenko Bloc (BPP). While the MP from the BPP Oleksiy Goncharenko supported the amendments of the Azerbaijani delegation to resolution No. 2185/2017, he stressed.

” The purpose of these provocative actions is very clear — to damage the policy of Petro Poroshenko, who is pursuing the course of Ukraine for European integration so that at the same time not to allow any negative impact on our strategic relations with fraternal, friendly Azerbaijan, ” Kubiv said.

In turn, in a conversation with Vice-President of the Academy of economic Sciences of Ukraine, political expert and former adviser to the Prime Minister of Ukraine academician Anatoly Peshko said that the vote of five people’s deputies of Ukraine, represented in PACE, in support of the resolution against the interests of Azerbaijan, should not be considered as a manifestation of unfriendliness to the residents of the fraternal Azerbaijani people.

“Unlike Azerbaijan, the Ukrainian ruling elite pursues a policy of brutal terror towards its own citizens: both ordinary and public figures, and representatives of the media, and politicians. Ukrainian deputies, frightened by the systematic unconstitutional actions of the Ukrainian government, the President and Parliament, consistently infringing and selecting the basic rights and freedoms of citizens of Ukraine, every day faced with the facts of blatant abuse by representatives of the Supreme state power, as well as senior officials of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, very painfully react to such facts.

Therefore, the information about the alleged violation of human rights in Azerbaijan, which was heard from the speakers of the 72nd session of PACE, caused an unconditional reflex. The deputies automatically voted for the above-mentioned PACE resolution, without delving deeply into whether the information provided by the rapporteurs on the rights and freedoms of Azerbaijani citizens is true,” Anatoly Peshko stressed.

The interlocutor asked the citizens of Azerbaijan to condescend to those Ukrainian parliamentarians who are”really frightened by the ongoing lawlessness in our Ukraine”. “As the saying goes: “once Burned, twice water blow”. And the Ukrainian deputies arrived.

“Once again I call on the fraternal Azerbaijani people to maintain friendship and good human relations with Ukraine and other countries of the former Soviet Union, because despite the fact that we live in different countries, but the highest human values: mutual understanding, mutual assistance, goodwill, willingness to always help in trouble – remained the highest unshakable value that unites our peoples,” – said Peshko.

In conclusion, the academician expressed deep respect for the Azerbaijan people.
