The Kyiv Court of Appeal on September 29 will consider the appeal on the claim of Academician Peshko about the inaction of the Office of the Prosecutor General
On September 29, the Kiev Court of Appeal will consider an appeal against the decision of the Pechersk District Court of Kiev to reject the complaint of Academician Anatoly Peshko about the inaction of the Office of the Prosecutor General. We are talking about the refusal of the Office of the Prosecutor General to register Peshko’s statement about a criminal offense when the Verkhovna Rada passed the law on the land market in Ukraine.
Recall that on March 30, 2020, the Rada adopted the law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding the Turnover of Agricultural Land”, which opened the land market in Ukraine.
The next day, Academician Anatoly Peshko filed with the RRB and the Office of the Prosecutor General of the statement of crimes under a number of articles during the adoption of this law. In particular, Peshko points out that the actions of the president and 259 people’s deputies fall under the articles “Treason”, “Abuse of power”, “Aiding in fraud”. Peshko notes that this law damages the state and economic security of Ukraine, opens the way to illegal land transactions.
The Office of the Prosecutor General refused to submit this statement to the ERDR, citing the alleged lack of corpus delicti.
The Pechersk District Court of the capital, to which Peshko filed a complaint against the actions of the Prosecutor General’s Office, returned it to the academician. After that, Peshko appealed against this decision of the Pechersk Court in the Kiev Court of Appeal.
