ADDRESS OF ACADEMICIAN ANATOLY PESHKO TO CITIZENS OF UKRAINE, JOURNALISTS AND PUBLIC FIGURES!

Dear compatriots!

Ukraine is turning over one more of the pages of its tragic history! This tragedy is connected with the fact that about 10 million hectares of arable land have already been stolen from the Ukrainian people and their state!

My appeal to the President of Ukraine on 02/23/2021 did not give any positive results. On the contrary, after visiting the Presidential Administration on this issue, when leaving the Presidential Administration, a chubby, densely built man of about fifty, shaved bald, came up to me. This man turned to me by name and patronymic and in a “cheerful tone” told me a short phrase: “Anatoly Vladimirovich, you know, the forest loves silence. If the wind sometimes sways its branches, this causes discontent among the inhabitants of the forest.” It was an overtly veiled threat. My assistant accompanying me was a witness to this phrase. Recently, calls from often mistaken men began to arrive on my mobile phone and various types of insulting and threatening SMS messages began to arrive, with subtext, so that I shut my mouth.

I regard this as an attempt to put pressure on me as a public figure in order to force me to stop fighting for the return of the stolen land to state property, to the property of the people of Ukraine! Because the value of the stolen land at European prices is approximately US $ 700 billion!

With today’s annual budget of Ukraine at 38 billion US dollars – this amount is 18.5 of the annual budgets of Ukraine!

This is the loss of Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial and food security!

This is the theft of the very land that is drenched in the blood of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers!

Dear compatriots! If you do not stop the law on the sale of land, then our land will be irretrievably lost! If the president of Ukraine wants to save Ukraine, he must stop the law on the sale of land until the moment when all the stolen land is returned to the ownership of the state and the people of Ukraine!

We have no other way!

With concern for the people of Ukraine, and honoring the memory of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, your A.V. Peshko.

Anatoly Peshko
